Orthodontics is a branch of dentistry that deals with the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of tooth and jaw position mismatches. Inappropriate positions of the jaws can be treated with removable orthopedic devices used in childhood. Therefore, the first orthodontic examination should be done around the age of 6-7. Ensuring tooth alignment is possible at any age, but the solution of skeletal problems that are not treated in the early period is carried out by the plastic surgeon, as well as orthognathic surgery, which is popularly known as jaw surgery.
By means of square shaped, small, stainless steel (gray) or porcelain (transparent) retainer parts called brackets, which are usually affixed to the front surfaces of the teeth, and the braces placed in these brackets, the teeth in perpendicular condition are moved to the places where they should be with orthodontic treatment. With the developing technology, it is possible to place the brackets specially produced on the back surface of the teeth facing the tongue, so that the crowding on your teeth can be removed without the brackets and wires being noticed. In addition, orthodontic treatment can be performed without wires and braces with less visible transparent plaques that can be attached and removed.

Orthodontic treatments usually begin between the ages of 9-12 when the deciduous teeth fall out and permanent teeth erupt. In some cases, by using appliances that can be inserted and removed at an earlier age, future problems can be prevented or future treatment can be facilitated by reducing the severity.
These appliances do not cause pain. Within a few days their presence becomes accustomed.
When used regularly for 6-9 months, the desired correction is achieved. After 6-9 months of active treatment, these appliances are used for 6 months while sleeping at night for protection purposes.
Wire treatment can be applied at any age in the presence of healthy teeth, gums and bones.
Although it is different for each patient, it takes an average of 1.5-2 years. It may take less time in cases where there is less crowding.
When the braces are first inserted, it may cause a slight discomfort for a short time, but this can be controlled and is temporary.
The wires are changed by checking every 5-6 weeks.
At the end of orthodontic treatment, wires and brackets can be removed without being formed from the net and the adhesives of the teeth are cleaned.
It is performed on images obtained as a result of scanning with oral cameras and plaques are produced to move the teeth according to this planning. By using these plates sequentially, proper tooth alignment is achieved.
Transparent transparent plates are removed by the patient and easily eaten. After the meal, the teeth are brushed and the transparent plaques are placed by the patient again.
It is performed on images obtained as a result of scanning with oral cameras. Brackets are produced in accordance with the internal surface form of each tooth. The wires used in this treatment are bent and used robotically with a computer system. This treatment method is known as lingual orthodontics.
